Amal now a professor at Oxford University

I'm curious if this will be the same kind of part-time arrangement that she has/had? here or will she have to be there on a more permanent basis. I kind of got the impression that they're not spending much time in the UK. Maybe now that will change.

I'm also curious where they've enrolled the twins for school. It isn't easy for kids to change schools at that age, especially when they're changing cultures, too. I just wonder where they feel they belong. (British? French? American?...)

Their parents will definitely find out when they get to their teens!

We moved about a bit when I was @ the twins' age, so I speak from experience. It's hard to make long-term friends if you're not in the same place for very long - although thanks to social media it might be easier to keep in contact now than it used to be. The teen years are even harder. You're right that G&A will find out when the kids get older!

Amal is a visiting professor , so she could work one semester or her contract could be for a few years.
Oxford apparently has summer classe so maybe she will teach one of those. That way the kids wlll be with her.

And we forget that they have a home in Sonning which is an hour's drive away from Oxford.....!.

I just wonder if the twins will have a place to put down roots & call home. It sounded like France was it, but then they moved to NYC for George's run of the play. Now, maybe summer in Sonning - or Como - or back to France.
 I guess they're fine, but it seems like they're missing out on growing up with a group of friends with whom to 
share their childhood experiences & memories. That's a connection that's hard to build if you don't spend actual time together.

Anyway, not my call to make.

I think the kid's wll be just fine. They have frends i'm sure in every country they live in.
George and Amal know so many people they won't miss out on friendship.

I have no idea what a "visiting professor" does or how often they work. Does she have her own class for an entire semester or does just just pop in from time to time as a gues to give a lecture? If it's just the occasional lecture, I'm sure the k8ds can remain in France and she can fly in & out. If it's the entire semester, that would change a lot.
