Amal Clooney wears her passion for the justice system on her sleeve.
The human rights activist and lawyer was honored as one of the most notable women in Britain in the Vogue 25, a list that recognizes women across sports, entertainment, science, journalism and more diverse fields that are doing their part in shaping British society.
Clooney was recognized for her efforts in human rights law, which has seen her defend political prisoners and journalists, advocate for women's rights and collaborate with organizations to create impactful solutions.
For her appearance on the list, Clooney wore a fitted skirt suit with the jacket open to expose a crisp white high-neck dress shirt with a ruffled collar. The accessories for her look played into her lawyer's background. She added a black barrister's robe over her outfit and carried a barrister's wig.

The barrister's wig is worn in courts across the United Kingdom as a symbol of authority, with its use dating back to the 1600s. The wigs are still worn as a way to honor the longstanding tradition and add a sense of formality to the proceedings.

For the Vogue 25 list, Clooney discussed what she thought the biggest challenge of the justice system is today.
“Apathy. There will always be injustice, cruelty and abuses of power. But if the good people – those who don’t agree with what is happening – stay quiet, it becomes very difficult to effect change," she told the outlet.

She added, "If there is more cowardice than courage in the corridors of power – in governments, companies – it is very difficult to improve the system. Yet I believe that justice must be waged, it is not something that simply happens on its own. The arc of history doesn’t bend toward justice: individuals have to pull it that way."
Clooney continues her impact on the justice field by paying it forward. She and husband George Clooney founded the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which a nonprofit organization that seeks to increase global justice and fights for human rights on an international scale.
