George Clooney and Amal Clooney brought Hollywood glam to London.
The Jay Kelly star, 64, and the lawyer, 47, stepped out for the 2025 edition of The Clooney Foundation For Justice's The Albies in London on Friday, Oct. 3. The couple arrived arm-in-arm at the Natural History Museum event.
Amal wore an Atelier Versace gown designed by Dario Vitale. The brown off-the-shoulder ruched look featured intricate pleats at her waistline. Her sophisticated ensemble included a small gold clutch, gold rings and gold dangle drop earrings.
The attorney's long brown hair was styled in curls that cascaded down her shoulders. Her makeup aligned with her neutral and gold ensemble, with a shimmery brown eye, bronzed blush and nude lip gloss.
Meanwhile, the Oscar winner coordinated with a classic Old Hollywood look, sporting a sleek black tuxedo with black leather dress shoes.

The pair's foundation established the annual event “to shine a protective spotlight on brave individuals and groups from around the globe who, at great personal risk, have devoted their lives to fighting for justice,” per the official site.
The Albies are named after the anti-apartheid hero Justice Albie Sachs, who received a Lifetime Achievement in Pursuit of Justice award at the inaugural ceremony in 2022.
The 2025 honorees include Gambian women's and girls’ rights activist Fatou Baldeh, Guatemalan journalist José Rubén Zamora, American newspaper editor Marty Baron, philanthropist Melinda French Gates and lifetime achievement recipient Darren Walker.

The couple’s London appearance comes days after they walked the red carpet at the New York Film Festival premiere of Jay Kelly on Monday, Sept. 29.
At that event, Amal went flirty in a red velvet minidress from Oscar de la Renta's fall/winter 2025 ready-to-wear collection. The deep red velvet showcased her toned legs, arms and shoulders with a strapless cut with subtle ruching around the bust. The skirt of the dress was completely covered in three-dimensional, red poppy flowers that bloomed outward to mimic real petals.
George, meanwhile, wore a navy blue suit with a pale blue button-down shirt and black leather shoes.

Some of Hollywood’s most prominent names descended on London on Friday night to attend the Albie Awards, Amal and George Clooney’s black-tie, celebrity-laden event that celebrates those who have devoted their lives to justice.
For the first time in the event’s four-year run, the guests — Meryl Streep, Emma Thompson and Jacinda Ardern, to name a few of the 400 who attended — walked a red carpet leading into the Natural History Museum in London. In prior years, the Albies were held at the New York Public Library.
Moving the event to England was mostly a result of good timing, Mr. Clooney said. The couple was scheduled to be in Britain already, because Ms. Clooney is introducing a partnership at Oxford University that focuses on using artificial intelligence to enhance access to justice, accountability and the advancement of international law, according to the Blavatnik School of Government.
And because the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which the Clooneys founded, is an international organization, London seemed like a good place for the benefit, Mr. Clooney said.

After three years in New York, the Clooneys moved the event moved to London for 2025.
Looking at the very polite press line along the red carpet, Mr. Clooney concluded that there was at least one difference compared with New York City: “England is a little less raucous.”
Much like the Albies of prior years in New York, the reception and dinner had all the makings of a glitzy gala. John Legend and Brandi Carlile performed. Charlotte Tilbury and Versace were sponsors.

Donatella Versace entered the event alongside the stylist and creative director IB Kamara.

The singer John Legend performed at the event.
But it was clear that for many of the guests, the event was about more than cocktails, finger foods and fancy frocks. (The New York Times was invited to only the red carpet, not the reception and the party.)

Celebrity guests included the actresses Meryl Streep and Hannah Waddingham.

The red carpet also had appearances from Felicity Jones and Meg Ryan.
Celebrity guests included Hannah Waddingham, Gayle King and Meg Ryan — all in sequined dresses — as well as Graham Norton, Richard E. Grant and Dominic West. And the longer you looked toward the red carpet, the more stars seemed to appear: Isla Fisher, Stella McCartney, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Bianca Jagger, Shailene Woodley, Felicity Jones and others.
“Tonight is about hope and possibility,” said Darren Walker, the president of the Ford Foundation. “We need to be reminded that the future can be bright and that the world is not all dark.”

Fatou Baldeh, a Gambian women’s rights activist, was also honored.
“It’s almost bizarre, because I spent my life being an iconoclast and now I’ve become an icon,” said Mr. Sachs, who narrowly survived a car bombing in 1988 in which he lost his right arm and the sight in one eye. But, he added, “I can live with the contradiction.”
It was also simply important to attend an event focused on justice that was also fun, Mr. Sachs said, adding that the Albies were infused with a joyous energy (something that is not always the case at events focused on human rights, he said).
Many of the other celebrities said that the honorees, and celebrating those who work for justice, were the main draws of the event.
Among this year’s honorees were José Rubén Zamora, a Guatemalan journalist who was arrested in an attempt to stifle political dissent; Fatou Baldeh, a Gambian activist for women’s rights; the philanthropist Melinda French Gates; and Martin Baron, a former executive editor of The Washington Post. Mr. Walker, the Ford Foundation president, received a lifetime achievement award.

Brandi Carlile, who performed at the event, arrived with her wife, Catherine Shepherd.
Ms. Carlile, one of the last to arrive on the red carpet, was wearing a perfectly-tailored tuxedo and said she was excited to celebrate the honorees. “We’ve attended some pretty self-congratulatory things in our lives,” she said, adding that celebrating people who are “risking everything is profound.” (She added that she was also excited to meet her celebrity crush, Emma Thompson.)

Bella Tilbury, Isla Fisher, Charlotte Tilbury, Felicity Jones, Jemma Khan, Laura Bailey and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez.
For Mr. Baron, the journalist, attending the event and accepting the Albie Award represented “a statement on behalf of free expression,” even if the fancy affair was not his usual scene. “I normally don’t hang out with celebrities very much,” he said.
Ramla Ali, a professional boxer, said she felt similarly. She had not attended the Albies before and said she was excited about all the celebrities she was about to share a room with. She did not plan to play it cool, she said: “If I see someone I love, I am going to go up to them and say, ‘Hey, can we take a picture?’”
