Biden at George fundraiser instead of Zelensky

He can’t still be planning to do this fundraiser, can he? How do you go raise money for a guy accused of funding war crimes by a team of experts including your wife? A guy who has threatened sanctions against the people involved, which, again, includes your wife. I can’t understand the mental gymnastics required to do this.

For me at this point biden is truly the less of two evils. Trump winning would really destroy the U.S. He came close before.
Let's be real no president would go against Israel not even Obama it would not happen. There is more to this than just Israel and Palestine.

I think George is smart enough to know that you don't support a candidate based on their position on one issue - especially an issue over which they have limited influence.The situation in the Middle East will be settled only when the people there want it to be, no matter what anyone else says or does.

I think George is well aware that keeping Drumpf out of the White House is job one, and that re-electing Pres. Biden is imperative for our country to survive as a democracy. Foreign policy is only one aspect of the job & so far Biden has done a great job on all aspects of domestic policy. As one pundit put it, "I'd vote for Biden's corpse over Trump."

Exacly Lizzy , George has no choice and neither do the American people. The orannge menace nearly destroyed America if he wins again he will finish the job.

I don't want to vote for Trump again but I seriously think Biden has dementia. I'm not saying this to be nasty but as a medical professional. This is the first election I have ever considered just sitting out, as neither candidate is acceptable to me.

Ida, I truly don't believe Biden has dementia. He is an older man who was in a stressful situation on debate night because he spent days preparing to bring FACTUAL information to the people. He was tired & it showed. If you saw him at the event the next night, he was energetic & right on target, & if you look at what he's accomplished in the past 3 years for the people, not himself & his friends, you'd know he's still supremely qualified for the job.

Trump, on the other hand, was fine at the debate because he didn't have to prepare. He just showed up to insult Biden & make things up. It never occurred to him to tell the truth because 1. He NEVER DOES 2.He truly doesn't know the difference between truth & lies. If you're looking for someone with dementia, I'd be looking at him. Biden's mistakes are slip-of-the-tongue. Trump's mistakes are caused by serious confusion and lack of understanding.

Biden may not be the ideal candidate - if one ever exists - but Trump is someone who just a few short years ago would NEVER have been considered for any political office, let alone the presidency. He's a CONVICTED felon for paying to keep information from the public before the election, He sexually assaulted countless women and young girls. He thinks foreign policy means  trashing our allies & doing business with our political adversaries (China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, etc. - from which HE makes a profit, not the US) and he has total disrespect for the Constitution and the laws of this country. He wants to run things so that he and his rich buddies continue to live a life of luxury paid for by the rest of us. If he gets re-elected, he and his right-wing supporters will dismantle our government & destroy the Bill of Rights. And consider this: It won't end with him. Trump's just the tool they've been looking for to get them into power.

Sorry! I didn't mean to go on a rant. I just don't understand how anyone thinks sitting out the election is an option. If you aren't voting for Biden, you're handing a vote to Trump.

The work that Biden has done in the last few year for the country's infrastructure is incredibly impressive given that he had to get agreement from any number of Republican states, and it seems to me he is doing what a President should do. 

I get the impression that large parts of the country don't necessarily know about some of this stuff or maybe don't care (and as a Brit I only see things from afar. But what I do know is that large sums of money given to Trump 'for his
 campaign' actually end up in his own pockets for  'pet projects'. His PR staff are doing a wonderful job!)

Speaking from across the pond, the impression that I have of Trump is he is one who is happy to hoodwink as many people as he can - and his cousin Mary seems to have confirmed as such. I am not sure why people are not aware of this - are all the bosses of the tv conglomerates his friends!??

I Live in Maryland, which is a very Democratic state. I don't think Md has elected a Republican president since George Bush. My lack of voting certainly won't be defaulting to Trump in this state.

Ida, no matter where you live every vote counts. If you can't bring yourself to vote for Trump please vote for Biden. At least you'll know you voted to keep Trump out of the White House.

I can see where you're coming from Ida, but as someone with a career in international relations, I would say that of the two of them,  Biden has done more for the country in terms of investment, jobs and securing the future. 

   Not sure that about the other one. I have a feeling he prefers investment in himself - and is awaiting a trial......

Ida, I'm not assuming you like Biden. I understand that you don't like either candidate and would rather sit this one out. I've been there myself. But this time it's different.

Forget about the two men, forget about policies that don't really affect you and think about your own life the last 3 years. Have you needed access to Medicare or Social Security? Has someone in your family had student debt forgiven? Has a major infrastructure project (a bridge, road, transit, new industry) been brought to your area? Has someone you know needed access to fertility treatments or birth control? Can you name one person who has lost a job to an immigrant? Are you confident that your right to vote is secure?

I could go on, but my point is this: Under a Trump/Republican administration any program designed to help the average American will be drastically cut or eliminated. Tax relief will be for the richest 1% and the rest of us will pay to support their life of luxury. Laws and workplace rules that protect us from corporate greed will be removed. Most important: Many of our Constitutional rights will be stripped away and this country will become the kind of autocracy we've opposed since we were founded.

I know you don't want to, but for the sake of our democracy hold your nose and vote for Biden to keep Trump out of the White House. At least you'll know your life won't be any worse than it is today.
