I don't think I ever did. IMO the whole segment with Vera Farmiga makes him too vulnerable at a point where he's supposed to be more detached - or at least struggling with commitment. I can see why they didn't use it.

Ladybug - Have you seen the film? It's probably available on YouTube, so if you get a chance you really should watch it. It's one of his best. I always thought he should have gotten the Oscar for this one.

Yes, I absolutely loved the movie and I also think he should have gotten the Oscar. In this clip there's no clear sign of married or single. In this scene he is expecting her to come stay with him. He thinks she's single. He finds out later that she's not. I think the scene was cut because it was too soon in the film for him to be so serious about her.

You may be right. I haven't seen it in a long time and don't remember the scene - at least no the extended scene that's in the clip.
