George Clooney’s father spent years leading a Cincinnati TV station that’s now owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, and he called on the right-wing company’s owners to deliver their opinions themselves instead of enlisting their journalists.[/size]

[size=18]Nick Clooney served as news director and lead anchor of WKRC-TV for nearly a decade in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and he lamented what the station had become under its current owners, reported the Cincinnati Enquirer.[/size]

[size=18]“I have no idea what these folks are doing for a living, but it isn’t news,” the 84-year-old Clooney told the newspaper.[/size]

[size=18]A viral video shows Sinclair anchors reading from a script that claims a “deep state” conspiracy against President Donald Trump, and Clooney said he would never have allowed ownership to meddle in editorial decisions like that.[/size]

[size=18]The veteran TV journalist said scripted editorials were always clearly identified to viewers when he anchored the news, and he said station owners sometimes gave their opinions directly to viewers — but they would not have forced anchors to mislead viewers.
“Never, however, would they have suggested, coerced, forced the anchors or the reporters to be a part of that process,” Clooney said. “They had to do it themselves. To borrow the credibility of the anchor and the reporter is beyond the pale.”

The viral video shows current WKRC anchors Rob Braun and Cammie Dierking reading the Sinclair script, and Clooney said he felt ashamed for them.

“If all they want is a puppet, a marionette, you can get them a lot cheaper,” Clooney said.

Yep.  I saw a similar story on Cincinnati.com last night.  As Nick is someone who appreciates the integrity of being a journalist it’s great to hear him speak out!  This story has been getting lots of media attention yesterday and this morning.  It’s bizarre and pretty damn creepy to know that Sinclair made all of its newscasters mouth the same exact commentary on air.  I’ve never heard of anything like that before.

As someone who watch the news on several different stations, they do this everyday.  The news has for a long time been the source that drives perception.  Now I know how they are doing it.

U.S. Oil/Corporate Business is the dictator that runs our government, the media is there to drive their perception.

And we all know that Trump wants to turn this country into a dictatorship.

In our country never have I ever heard about multiple news organizations reading from the same script to spread propaganda.  That’s what happens in authoritarian states, not in the U.S.  Ironically that script could of and should have been aimed at Fox News, Brietbart and all the other alt right media outlets.

I watch Fox, NBC, CBS, ABC and cable news they ALL spew the same information EVERYDAY.

Charlettesville is a perfect example.  None of them explain who ANTIFA was or why they were there.  No news medium ask the question why "Black Lives Matter" was there, as noted here they have a very specific agenda, that did not fit the KKK ralley.  No news medium stressed the fact the pro-statue protesters had a permit to be there, when counter-protester did not have a permit.  

For weeks the news media drove the perception, that there was a divide in the country.  We stood together Black, White, Asian, Latino..., Pro football was a perfect example.  The stood together, kneeled together, locked arms together, kneeled together.  We were not and are not a divided country.

When there is a group with a difference of opinion it does not make us divided as a country.  It was the media, who are ran  primarily by one corporate agent-Sinclair that tried to drive that perception.  

It surely cannot help that the president chooses to cry 'fake news' when much of it certainly isn't!! He really does like sensationalism doesn't he? I think George was right to say that he's out of his depth.....

That is ridiculous and scary. He wouldn't have to cry fake news at every turn if he listened too people when they tell him what to do and say. But then again if he did that many people wouldn't have seen him for what he is an idiot  a racist and a coward.

I don’t think we can possibly lump together all the news media outlets and claim that they tell their audiences the same news. They may cover the same stories but there is a distinct difference in how the facts are presented to the public.  Our free press and, in particular, major news organizations are being attacked and undermined by the idiot man in the White House and his enablers are backing him up.  It is wrong, dangerous and undemocratic.  Yep, an ‘idiot, racist and a coward’ who clearly is ‘out of his depth ...’
