Katie - I thought of that, but the coat is sheared beaver and very thick and heavy - not really suitable for a bedspread or a throw. There are only 3 collars - not enough to make anything like a blanket.

I guess I'll eventually think of something. In the meantime, they can stay where they are. Thanks everyone for the ideas.

Is it un-PC to use animal fur to make vests and booties for a dog to wear?

Way2Old -Don't fur coats come as standard features on dogs, or are they premium add-ons?

No, I don't  have a dog. But my neighbour has a Chinese Crested dog and always dresses it to go out except in the middle of the summer.

Silje - The fur from my coat is so heavy, if I made that little dog a coat from it he wouldn't be able to move - it would squash him flat!
